Thursday 28 May is World Play Day. Play is so important to all of us, especially for children! Playing is often one of the most neglected of all the rights of a child. TREE (Training & Resources in Early Education) is a non-profit organisation that specialises in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Resource & Training. We assist adults from small disadvantaged communities to provide South Africa’s children with access to Early Childhood Development programs that promote and solidify children’s holistic development, support, health and welfare. We value the importance of play in all our programmes.
This morning, two of our TREE’s Trainers, spent time with 75 Grade R Students at Briardene Primary School playing and learning through the use of Lego Six Brick Activities – so much fun was had by all. TREE also made sure that the children had a healthy snack after their brains had been working so hard!
“Our message to all adults is to take time to understand the value of play and learning through play. Children learn important developmental skills through play; cognitive, emotional, social and physical! Make sure YOU take some time out to play today – it is the best way to learn and grow.”
